Talloin balilaisten on tapana jarjestaa seremonia lasta varten.

Ehka annan sille viela toisen mahdollisuuden jokin paiva. Ehka?
When I came back from Ubud at least then I didn't get lost and I found my way back to Sanur. I had only couple of days left in Bali before my visa expired and I had my flight to Australia. So the trip wasn't going to end yet ! I was quite excited and looked forward for Dow Under.
First I planned to stay in Ubud until my leave but after few accidents there and getting this interesting invitation I decided to go Sanur and spent the last days there. Harry's family invited me to come and see his sister's ceremony. Her sister turned to be 6 months old and it meant she would have this ceremony where all the relatives and the local holy man would come. Probably the ceremony was asking protection and good luck for the future from the gods. As again I didn't get a proper answer from the mother when I tired to ask her. But I didn't mind. The ceremony was beautiful and it was nice to experience and be part of it. I even joined the shop-game where relatives could give money for the baby as a present. You bought little things as chips or cake from her and the baby could keep the money. I bought some nuts and orange juice. First it seemed weird but in a way it's much more nice way to give money than just giving an envelop full of cash.
Like in all family occasions there was food for serve and all the relatives were talking to each other. Also Harry's grandmother tried to come and talk with me all the time as she thought I knew little bit Indonesian. Sorry .. But no. Finnish perhaps? I was so happy I came to see the occasion and met Harry's family. I'm also very grateful for Harry's family for inviting me.

And thanks to Harry I met all these nice people and I never knew what was going to happened in the evenings and who I would met. It was always a mystery with Harry what would happen. For example on the last day I went to see when he took a tattoo in his arm. It took 4 hours and it looked so painful that I could never do it. But when the artist finished the tattoo looked really nice and good. Actually it was much more beautiful than I thought it would be. Or what you think?
Seriously, Balinese people doesn't stress about anything ! |

The last day went quickly and I just organised my trip to Australia by buying stuff and printing my flight tickets and the visa etc. I also enjoyed the last time from the Balinese treats as I doubted that there would be lot of food stalls selling fried banana in Melbourne. Harry and his friend took me out to Kuta on my last night and it was fun and I thought that I would really miss them and their silly jokes. I was also very sad when I had to say goodbye to Harry's family and especially Kesha whose smile was so heartmelting. She is really so adorable. I just wanted to hug and squeeze the family before my leave and really make them realise how great my time was with them and how grateful I was. I actually cried the way to the airport when Harry took me to there with his bike. And I felt so weird before entering the airport. The unknown future made me so nervous ..

Also me and the little brother got into the picture - family smile ! |
So the month in Bali was over and what did I think about Bali when I left? Diving was amazing there and definitely one of the best things with Harry's family which happened to me there. Also the nature was so beautiful sometimes that I couldn't believe my eyes. But the other side of the coin .. Bali's tourism did annoy me little bit and it's affects too. People had became greedy and tourist were only ATM's for the locals. Also the island didn't feel so authentic with all the tourist shops and city's which were full of guesthouses. But perhaps I shouldn't judge the place too early and give it a chance perhaps someday. Perhaps?
